TECH • POLICY • EQUITY

Headshot

Breigha Adeyemo, Ph.D., is a researcher and scholar working at the intersection of technology, policy, and equity. Her work examines how digital platforms, AI systems, and emerging technologies shape inequality—and how they can be redesigned to better serve marginalized communities.

Drawing on critical platform studies, Black feminist thought, and design justice, she investigates issues such as platform governance, algorithmic bias, and digital racial capitalism. Her research also highlights how marginalized communities, particularly women of color, resist and reimagine digital systems.

Her work has been featured in national media outlets including NPR, PBS, and The Conversation. She is particularly interested in bridging research and practice, contributing to more equitable technology design, policy, and governance.

Research & Policy Focus: Platform governance and accountability; Digital equity and racial justice in technology; Artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic bias; Social media and immersive technologies (VR); Design justice and inclusive technology; Surveillance, data, and power
